Rust vs Go for high-throughput networking proxy

Building a reverse proxy that needs to handle 50k+ concurrent connections with TLS termination. Currently evaluating Rust (tokio/hyper) vs Go (net/http). Go gives faster dev iteration but Rust shows 2-3x lower memory footprint in benchmarks. For a team of 4 with mixed experience, is the Rust performance gain worth the complexity?
